Developing a Plan
To reach your goals, you must develop a solid action plan. This plan may include any of the following: counseling, skill building, academic tutoring, legal advocacy, alternative interventions, and/or medications. Of course, how you design your plan will depend on you or your loved one's specific needs. A knowledgeable professional can help you create a plan that is best for you. There is no one right way. One family may need supportive counseling to help them better understand their child's behavioral difficulties and to develop practical management strategies. Another family may benefit from working with an educational therapist to improve their child's study and organizational skills. For others, additional assessment work may be required by an occupational therapist, an audiologist, or a speech and language pathologist.
